MBTA Integral Art

Integral art is to be incorporated in all MBTA station projects. The policy describes the program in more detail, and may be found on the MBTA’s website at Integral Art Program/Policy Guidelines.  Transportation excellence will be included in every aspect of the system. As multiple modes of transportation become more prevalent as a way for people to travel, art and design must be an integral part of the effort. The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority is committed to ensuring diverse opportunities to engage people and communities in programs that create quality art system wide. The goal is to improve and beautify neighborhoods and strengthen the place of transit in the community through the installation of artwork that will offer the public new ways to enjoy and experience the MBTA.
